Maternity leave looming!
I only have one more week left at work and being a bank holiday week that means just four days! I can’t wait, have massive lists of things to do to keep me busy whilst I am off.
My mission to get everything for this baby on a tight budget is going really well. A lot of this is thanks to ebay. I have spent many hours scouring ebay for bargains and I’ve done really well. Some of my great buys have been:
Moses basket and stand for £5, a Mamas and Papas one, at least £60 for the basket in the shops plus another £20 for the stand.
Bouncy chair for £3, another Mamas and Papas one, should have been about £20.
A breast pump for 99p! Should have been about $20.
Lots of maternity clothes and other bits and bobs. The only thing we have spent much money on was the pram/pushchair which cost £160 but that was in the sale and had 55% off.
Overall I think I have done really well, obviously there is an environmental benefit to buying things second hand, saves stuff going into land fill and means more stuff doesn’t have to be made.
I’m starting to feel a lot easier about being ready for the baby coming!
