Nappies - the obvious way!
I think it would be strange if I started off this blog discussing any other nappies than reusable. I realise there has been research into whether reusable nappies really are better for the environment than reusable with some strange findings which I don’t necessarily agree with but to me it was a no-brainer. Even if you just look at it from the point of view of saving money, reusables win hands down over disposables. Personally I couldn’t justify going out every week and spending money on nappies which were just going to end up in the bin when it is possible to get reusable nappies that I can wash again and again.
I was lucky to find some in a sale, in January they were offering 20% off everything at The Clean Green Nappy Machine so I bought a selection of flat terry nappies, some shaped nappies, some wraps, some nappy nippas and some liners all for under £70. Where I live the council offers an incentive to encourage people to but real nappies so from this I got back £25. So now I have enough nappies to start off with and it all cost me around £45 which I don’t think is bad!
